By the time you read this...

 You all have been great

Well, lucky me. I not only have neighbors who light the hallway of my apartment building on fire, but I've managed to achieved the status of attracting to myself a full fledged internet stalker too. And he or she does not seem to be able to take no for an answer. So, I'll be taking this moment to say good-bye to all that I have had the pleasure of meeting here for the short time I've been on blogstream. It's been wonderful fun reading your posts, and chatting with you. Please take care. Best wishes. Maybe I'll chat at you somewhere else another time. Gidget

 Some more thoughts for today...

Things I experience with my children are a constant source of inspiration for me. Following is the text from a book called the "The Little Red Hen", by Byron Barton. There is a moral to this story that even adults can appreciate. So, here goes.

Once there were four friends----a pig, a duck, a cat, and a little red hen. The little red hen had three baby chicks.

One day the little red hen was pecking in the ground, and she found some seeds.

She went to her three friends and asked, "Who will help me plant these seeds?" "Not I," squealed the pig. "Not I," quacked the duck. "Not I," meowed the cat.

"Then I will plant the seeds," said the little red hen. And she did. And the seeds sprouted and grew into large stalks of wheat.

Then the little red hen asked her three friends, "Who will help me cut these stalks of wheat?" "Not I," meowed the cat. "Not I," squealed the pig. "Not I," quacked the duck.

"Then I will cut the wheat," said the little red hen. And she did.

Then the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me thresh this wheat?" "Not I," squealed the pig. "Not I," quacked the duck. "Not I," meowed the cat.

"Then I will threash the wheat," said the little red hen. And she did.

Then the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me grind these grains of wheat into flour?" "Not I," squealed the pig. "Not I," quacked the duck. "Not I," meowed the cat.

"Then I will grind the wheat into flour," said the little red hen. And she did.

Then the little red hen asked her three friends, "Who will help me make this flour into bread?" "Not I," meowed the cat. "Not I," squealed the pig. "Not I," quacked the duck.

"Then I will make the flour into bread," she said. And she did.

Then the little red hen called to her friends, "Who will help me eat this bread?" "I will," quacked the duck. "I will," meowed the cat. "I will," squealed the pig.

"Oh no," said the little red hen. "We will eat the bread."

And they did----the little red hen and her three little chicks.

 Some thoughts for today

There was a man who one day decided to go for a Sunday drive to see the sights around his town, and enjoy the countryside. He drove and drove over rolling hills, past grassy meadows, through the sparsely populated areas on the outskirts of town. After a shortwhile the man heard a "clunk", and felt a "bump", all of a sudden his car was skidding towards the shoulder of the road. After gaining control of his vehicle he stopped to get out and see what had happened to his car. Walking around the to the otherside of his car he noticed one of the front tires had come off. No problem thought the man, I have a spare tire in my trunk. I'll just get it out, put it on, and be on my way. So, he proceeded to do just that. After jacking the car up, carrying the spare tire over, and placing it on the car, the man noticed that when the first tire had come off all of the lug nuts had been lost, and he had no way to secure the spare tire to keep it from falling off too. He sat and thought for a while. He could not think of anything to do. Just then he happened to look up and notice he was outside an insane assylum. As he looked up at the windows on the front of the building he noticed a man sitting in the window motioning for him to come over. The driver, more than a little uneasy by now, not knowing if the man in the window would be dangerous or not, walked closer to the front of the building. He thought, well, maybe I can get this crazy man to get someone to help me so that I can get out of here. So, he called up to the man. "Could you please do me a favor? Can you get someone who works here to come out and give me a hand?" The man answered back, "No sir I can not. I'm in solitary confinement, and have no contact with anyone here; however, I have an idea that may help you out." Figuring he had nothing else to lose at this point, because he was on a road far away from town and it was getting dark, he said to the man in the window, "Okay, so what's your idea?" The man in the window said to the driver, "Take one of the lug nuts of each of your other three tires. Then use those three lug nuts to secure the fourth tire. This should work well enough to get you to town." The man thinking this might just work did as he was told. Sure enough, he had all four tires on, and was ready to drive back home, when he thought of something. He walked back over to the building, looked up at the man in the window, and asked, "How did you know how to do that? It says on the building that this is an insane assylum, and you yourself admitted to being in solitary confinement so you must be crazy." The man in the window looked down at him, and answered, "Sir, I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid."

Everyday has gifts to offer open the presents

My little guy recovered from his asthma attack however now he's starting to sound like he's coming down with Bronchitis. He was born a beautiful, happy, healthy, boy, in 2002. Throughout his first year of life he thrived, grew, and everything was going well. When he was just over a year old he came down with a severe respiratory infection. The infection ran rampant through his little body and in a matter of a few weeks my healthy, happy, little boy was a skinny little guy barely walking anymore, and still fighting off new infections. I was going to school and working at the time, but helping him to survive became a more important task. That's when I discovered distance learning. Taking classes online gave me something to do with my time, and made me feel like I was still contributing to bettering our future while I was taking care of him. It worked. I completed several classes. The online contact gave me enough social contact to maintain my sanity during this time, and eventually because I was able to stay with him and devote the time to helping him recover, my little guy's health started to improve. Throughout the next year he gradually gained back the weight he had lost, but the damage to his lungs wouldn't heal so quickly. Now when he gets sick he really gets sick. Every time, I worry how bad is it going to be this time around. Even so, I thank god every day for all of the blessings I have had in my life. I thank God for my children, for my little boy surviving, for the internet being here when I couldn't get out of the house, for all of the little things that happen in life that we take for granted, and most of all I thank him for today. Peace to all, and may you be as fortunate as I have been in life.

 On a different note

Sitting here debating on if I feel like finishing my assignments, which are due tomorrow. I've been taking online classes, and it's great to be able to attend class in the middle of the night when there's not enough hours in the day to get to a campus. Also, I was just staring at the pictures of four cute little kitties on my calendar hanging above my computer, and it makes think about my cat. I have a twelve year old female seal point siamese named cocoa. I wonder what she thinks of life. Does she get bored just sitting around the house all day sleeping? Do animals have a level of consciousness similar to humans? I wonder some of these things right now because for one of my classes I'm preparing to write a paper on the Terri Schiavo case. I need to come up with an argument supporting whatever point of view I chose to take on the case, and how the system could be changed to better handle these situations. I wonder if Terri was aware of her surroundings, and all the controversy over her life. Wouldn't it interesting if someone could invent device to read brain signals that would relay any communication activity going on in the neurological functioning of the brain, and to be able to decipher it? If a person has any level of awareness of their surroundings the device could measure the neurological functioning of this awareness, and interpret the measurements to be used in understanding what is going on in their brains. However, maybe that wouldn't be such a great invention. Just think what the government would do with a device such as that. Nothing would able to stop those with malicious intents like terrorists from using a device like that to cause great harm. Anyway, I'm just rambling on now. So, I'll say good-night for now.
